Swan 128 Be Cool Crowned at World Superyacht Awards as Nautor Swan Celebrates 60 Years

Venice, May 4th — In the prestigious setting of the Arsenale di Venezia, the world’s first example of industrial boatbuilding, Nautor Swan is proud to announce that the Swan 128 Be Cool has been awarded the Boat International World Superyacht Award in the sailing yachts 30m to 39.9m category.
Presented during the 21st edition of the World Superyacht Awards, this prestigious recognition celebrates the very best in luxury yacht design and construction. It comes in a milestone year for the shipyard, which celebrates its 60th anniversary. The award highlights Nautor Swan’s continued commitment to excellence, honoring a legacy that has shaped the history of sailing since 1966 while consistently pushing the boundaries of design and innovation. The Boat International jury acknowledged the shipyard’s ability to respect its heritage while advancing forward-thinking solutions—an approach deeply rooted in its DNA, as well as the beauty, performance, and excellence behind this project.
Giovanni Pomati, CEO of Nautor Swan, says:
“We are very proud of this important recognition, which reflects the vision of our owners and the passion, innovation, and craftsmanship at the heart of our shipyard. The Swan 128 represents our pursuit of excellence, and we look forward to seeing BeCool and the recently launched Raijin sailing together at the Rolex Swan Cup, embracing the unique spirit of Swan and the sense of belonging to the same family united by a shared love for sailing and the sea.”

The Swan 128 represents the pinnacle of Nautor Swan’s production and sets a new benchmark in the world of maxi yachts in both technology and design. As the ultimate evolution of the Swan maxi series, she combines the purity of Swan’s iconic lines with refined, comfortable interiors and an extensive integration of advanced technologies. Naval architecture is by German Frers, exterior design by Micheletti+Partners, and interior layout and styling developed in close collaboration between architect Misa Poggi and the shipyard’s interior team.
The first hull, Be Cool, has already demonstrated the yacht’s outstanding capabilities, delivering a complete experience that balances performance and comfort. Designed to be enjoyed both under sail and at anchor, the Swan 128 offers owners and their families a seamless blend of sailing pleasure and onboard living. Her elegant “classic” lines embody a design language where tradition evolves into a contemporary expression of timeless beauty.
The second hull, Raijin, that is completely the rigging in Pietarsaari and will be soon ready to set sail, introduces significant advancements, particularly in interior styling as well as energy management and propulsion systems. Featuring an innovative Dual Energy Technology, Raijin reflects Nautor Swan’s vision of true sustainability—enhancing self-sufficiency by producing and managing energy onboard, while reducing reliance on diesel engines.
Developed in collaboration with Danfoss, the system optimizes energy production and consumption at every stage, significantly lowering fuel use and emissions. While sailing, energy can be regenerated and stored for later use, powering both propulsion and onboard systems, with the aim of eliminating generator use at anchor. The yacht is equipped with a main electric motor with a variable-pitch propeller, two 130 kW Cummins generators, and a 30 kW Fisher Panda generator. The system enables power regeneration of up to 30–50 kW under sail, while a 189 kWh battery bank allows for up to eight hours of fully silent operation with all systems running.
With the Swan 128, Nautor Swan continues to define the future of maxi yacht sailing—where performance, innovation, and sustainability come together in a refined and unmistakable expression of excellence.
