After more than one year living in pandemic times without sailing events, Big Easy and Chrila crews could not wait for the first warning signal at the Swan European Regatta 2021.

Claus Bressler, proud owner of Swan 56 Chrila, commented “An impressive line-up of 43 Swans alongside the river for competing in ORC1 and ORC2. What a stunning moment!

The First start saw Chrila, Swan 45s Katima and Aurora zero at the line, with local favourites Swan 51 Eira and Swan 55 Galiana following. A First Mark lead.  Kite up and at 10 plus knots we were moving ahead, extending the lead on every leg. We gained a great 2^nd place in DAY 1 and a 4^th in DAY 2, finishing on the third step of the podium overall”.

The Big Easy III crew describes the participation with the following words “During the first two days we had the optimum wind for our boat and achieved a good ranking in our group. The third, and the last day, was like a “low wind cruising” for us – we saw the competitors sailing away, not understanding why they are in such a hurry, while we were enjoying the beautiful sailing area outside Turku. After all we achieved a very convenient fifth place over all in ORC1 group.”

On the final Parade of Sail everyone agreed “we will be back next year in Stockholm”, “Can’t be better”!
