01 Aug Commissioning and handover of Swan 58, Feelin’ Good

Tracy and Art fell in love with the Swan 58 from the first time they saw the yacht. They have previously owned two other yachts and have sailed around the world but had no plans to build a third yacht. After seeing the Swan 58, thoughts of a new yacht grew on them. The wish list for a new yacht was to have a wonderful ‘superyacht’ in a smaller size, to have a performance yacht that is fast and nice to sail, but also, a yacht that they could handle themselves. Swan was the only alternative that could fulfill all these wishes.
As they have built two other yachts before, they knew what they wanted and this time they had the chance to take advantage of their years of experience sailing long distances. Everything is about the specification of the yacht. “The spec is what makes a yacht stand out, it’s what makes your yacht unique.” To choose the best options for your needs Tracy says that Nautor has a special way of building yachts that she has never seen before, it’s all about the details. “This has been our best build, and it has been wonderful to work with our Project Manager, Mark de Bruin.”
The couple rented a cabin in Larsmo in the middle of the woods for three weeks to be at the yard for the launch, commissioning, and handover of the yacht. Tracy laughs and says that the time at the yard has been like summer sailing camp for grownups. “It has been a fantastic experience to meet the other owners and crew from all over the world, we are all here for the same reason and share the same passion. There is a wonderful atmosphere, and a special excitement in the harbor, and everybody here has been so helpful. If you sign the contract for a new Swan yacht and do not come here for the delivery, you have cheated yourself out of a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
The name of the yacht is “Feelin’Good”, named after Tracy’s champion reining horse Mr. Feelin’ Good. All of Art and Tracys yachts have been named Feelin’ Good. Feeling good is also something Art and Tracy want everybody who is stepping on board their yacht to experience.
The first trip with the yacht will be from Jakobstad to Norway to see the fjords, followed by the Shetland islands, Orkney Islands, and the Scottish coast, and then on to Palma de Mallorca.
From the yard, we wish you all the best, fair winds and hope to see you soon on a racecourse!
