With its 9th edition, realizing the basic principle of “Connecting the Baltic countries through Sports”, only the best clubs from the National Sailing Leagues of Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Russia qualify for the Nord Stream Race, onboard ClubSwan 50 yachts.
This year it was a special edition, where live racing had been enjoyed during the winter and spring time by virtual regattas, achieving the huge success of +100.000 digital sailors taking part .
At every stopover, prestigious yacht clubs host the participating teams.
Gazprom is the General Partner of the Nord Stream Race along with Nord Stream AG as Partner. The hosting club and organiser is the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.
The 2021 edition goes to Finland, who, after a hard battle with the Russian team, won the lead in the last leg (Helsinki to St.Petersburg).
The inshore races were won by Russia.
