“Moonlight – Swan 46 MKII-099 was purchased by my father back in 1993. As an 8 year old girl little did I know about boats, but nevertheless my father gave me the honour to name her.  And so hull 99 designed by German Frers and built by Nautor was born under the name of ‘Moonlight’.  In 2003 Dad sold her to upgrade to another beautiful Swan – ‘Vega’.

But life is as unpredictable as the wind that changes and my father passed away in a car accident a couple of years after.

Time went by and I forgot the beauty of sailing, its silence, its peace, those 10 years spent on Moonlight.  Last year, almost 15 years after my father’s sudden death and almost 30 years after Moonlight was purchased I felt  a need to find her, to find in her my forgotten memories . 

By Googling her name I found the second owner who led me to the third owner in Norway, and finally, thanks  also to  Stefano Leonardi of Nautor’s sells team, I manage to get her back.

She looked exactly as I left her!  I was so impressed – the leather sofas were the same, 30 years they had lasted, as did the floor boards, the winches, even the bed lights were the same… But times have changed I felt that she needed a refit and for this job I chose the Nautor’s Swan Badalona team.  Together we were able to find the right balance between classic and modern, functionality and aesthetics. Past and future.

My main goal was to make the boat’s saloon look wider and more comfortable and the table played a fundamental role in this. We made an extendable table that also becomes a bed and added courtesy lights to add a modern touch.  On deck I wanted to add space and clean up the area so we removed some winches.   This added a lot of space and helped us in sailing the boat.
