RACING
D-Marin ORC World Championship 2019.
May 31st - June 8th, 2019 - Šibenik (CRO)
The lovely Dalmatian coast welcomed the 110 boats participating with a Summer weather: sunny, warm, slight breeze from the south just starting to rustle leaves on the olive trees.
The 2019 D-Marin ORC World Championship is a 6-day regatta divided in one long and one short offshore navigational race with the remainder of the program being buoy racing.
Huge results for Nautor’s Swan yachts:
CLASS A
- Swan 45 EX OFFICIO (Georgios Petrochilos) is 4th overall.
CLASS B
- ClubSwan 42 SELENE (Massimo De Campo)
- ClubSwan 42 DIGITAL BRAVO (Alberto Franchi)
- ClubSwan 42 MELA (Andrea Rossi)
This is impressive, since the 3 Swan yachts got a great distance from the 4th placed.
Mr. Massimo de Campo, proud owner of ClubSwan 42 Selene, commented “I’ll never forget that black buoy, few meters far from our bow, and the sentence of Alberto, our team manager, “Guys... it’s finished!”. Being on the podium with other 3 ClubSwan 42s, has confirmed the awareness that this beautiful yacht is extremely fast in all conditions and at the same time made the victory even more important because it has been a monotype win”

CLUBSWAN MEMBERS EXPERIENCE
The voyage of Swan 38/019 Pirate
The Swan 38 Pirate has very good karma. Olin Stephens drew her lines. His brother Rod fitted and rigged her. Since her inception, the yacht has had an attractive body and a bewitching soul. Over the years, good sailors, young and old, novices and world class, made her move.
Year after year, without exception, this classic Swan gave her skipper and first mate the opportunity to explore many seas, off many shores. To enjoy, we pitted the boat and ourselves against challenges, and, in doing so, were sufficiently successful as to feel our own power growing.
Sometimes the game involved danger. Sometimes it required us to learn new skills. On some occasions sailing was about courage; on some other occasions it was good fortune or luck. On all occasions what was being tested was nerve. In short, Pirate gave us adventure. This is her story: “The Voyage of Pirate”.
