LYMAN MORSE
The Lyman-Morse boatyards in both Thomaston and Camden have seen a flurry of Swan activity this season. In Thomaston, 2 Nautor’s Swan 100s sat side-by-side this winter in our Thomaston “green” building as both underwent major refits. Red Sky was the recipient of new teak decks and a new engine, while Virago underwent work to receive a new engine, new generator, refrigeration and an overhaul of PLC system.
In Camden, Nautor’s Swan 62, Atem, arrived early summer straight from a circumnavigation. After time in South Africa, she is heading towards the Caribbean and up to Maine. She will undergo a significant refit over the next few months before she heads back to warmer waters for the winter. A hit list of some of the work we’ll be performing includes:
- New JP3 rudder bearings
- Hull paint
- Replacing standing rigging
- Routine system maintenance
- Sanding decks
- Service prop and cutlass bearings
- Replacing house bank batteries
- Interior varnish
- New sails, cushions and canvas
- Servicing thrusters, windlass, a/c, generator, engine
