Swan 40-129 Olivia’s Refit

Now Olivia has a new owner. I found her in May 2018 at Palma de Mallorca boat show. I bought her in July and many things needed to be done. Olivia always stayed in El Arenal, in the bay of Palma, and after buying her, she stayed from July till the end of September there. In September I finished my job and the adventure started.
1st of October 2018 Olivia welcomed me on board.
5th of October 2018 the shipyard season starts at Club Náutico El Arenal.
First of all the ironworks where removed and then Baleos Yacht Carpentry came in to remove and replace the teak. They did an awesome job.
Next the stern was filled and faired with epoxy filler to repair the dings and scratches and then re-painted. The hull was then polished and the mast and the boom painted. However when we removed it, we realized that some parts of the rigging were on their last legs and we also changed them, including the diagonals and the forestay.
All the electronics are also brand new and we added a radar, an inverter, solar panels and water maker. This inventory was the key to getting the boat ready to go anywhere.
At the end of the day mostly everything that needed to be replaced has been replaced (all new screws, new sails, new ropes, modified bimini, blocks...)
It took 6 months all in all to bring her back to best condition.
Olivia is my dream boat, but I still need to earn a living to enjoy her. That’s where the idea “TARTARUGA SAIL AND DIVE” came from - a diving centre on a sailboat. This unique business idea will be the way I can follow my dream - sail around the world and teach diving on the way.
So.... let’s dive into the best life possible!
