Swan 65-101 Cuordisole was launched Friday the 29^th in Badalona (Spain). The Spanish and Finish teams tested the boat in different sea-wind conditions with great results. See the photos of her first sailing days.

The fortune of Nautor’s Swan was made with a 36 footer, one of the first yachts built in fibreglass. With her combination of fast lines, incorporating a modern separated fin keel and skeg hung rudder, and her fully fitted interior, she represented one of the very first production racer/cruisers (90 delivered boats from 1967 to 1970). 
From the sinuous lines of the Sparkman and Stephens design, with a deep long keel and elegant wooden deck fittings, there has been a long unstoppable evolution towards the sharp minimal design of Juan K. After 52 years of the same enthusiasm and belief in innovation, these are still the basic ingredients for creating the ClubSwan 36.

This year the Japan International Boat Show was held from 7 to 11 March in an indoor and outdoor venue nearby Yokohama. Nautor’s Swan was well represented with its popular 54 exhibited by our Japanese agent Riviera Resort. With Japanese tastes for yachts being focused on the 40-50ft size range, there was considerable interest in the soon-to-be-released Swan 48. Riviera Resort already has a 48 on order, with delivery timed to allow her debut in the 2020 Japan International Boat Show. With this boat and the new CS36, we can look forward to good news for NautorSwan sales in Japan in the coming 18 months to 2 years.

Aon, leading group in Italy and worldwide in risk and human resources consulting in insurance and reinsurance intermediation, has a consolidated expertise in the recreational boating insurance market, with a division dedicated to boating based in Ancona. As a 360° risk manager, it will offer an ad hoc consultancy service, analysing the different risk scenarios according to the type of boat and its intended use, and the relative insurance coverage for the best mitigation of the risks identified. Moreover, "tailor-made" advice is becoming increasingly important, given the growing number of unpredictable catastrophic events, such as natural ones, resulting from adverse weather conditions.

With five disputed races with southerly winds up to 20 knots, the second act of the Scarlino Winter Series wrapped up, with five attending ClubSwan 50s and two Swan 45s.
Leonardo Ferragamo’s Cuordileone scored consistently over the weekend, taking first place ahead of the German team of Onegroup, while Andrea Masi’s Ulika finished the weekend in third place.
A nice match race took place between Swan 45 Fever (back on the Swan OD scene, after a few years of absence) and Swing Cube; Fever achieving the leadership by just one point.
With these standings, the first edition of the Scarlino Winter Series (overall results, taking into account Act 1 + Act 2) goes to Cuordileone. Congratulations!

After 12 years since the last edition, Nautor’s Swan is pleased and proud to return to the iconic setting of Newport (Rhode Island) on the occasion of the 165th Annual Regatta, North America's oldest annual regatta. The new course of the Swan European Regatta begins from the home of international yacht racing. The Royal Yacht Squadron will host four days of racing from Monday 8th to Thursday 11th July (registration and measurement will be Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July). The owners’ dinner will take place in the Castle, built in 1539 during the reign of Henry VIII.
The owners, families and crews of all Swans,whether classic or modern, are invited to join RYS and Nautor’s Swan for the 2019 European Championships. Visit the website for regatta documents and more information on the event.
As already advised, the SER new course moves on from Cowes to Stockholm in 2020 and then to Copenhagen and Kiel in the following years. In fact, we aim to invite Swan owners to race and have fun in the most celebrated European sailing venues.

Lottie Harland, Skipper and Founder of the charity Ausome, has kindly shared with us the story behind this admirable adventure: “I have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I’ve had it since birth and I will have for the rest of my life[..]
Sailing changed my life: My passion is sailing, and it was sailing that changed my life. I am now 22 years. [..] I started sailing dinghies at the age of nine at my local Burghfield Sailing Club and found that the sailing community was much more accepting of my autism than at school. This helped to rebuild my confidence and self-esteem that was being knocked out of me by the constant bullying in school [..]
The difficulties starting in sailing for those with an ASD: I have always wanted to help other autistic people experience the benefits and joys of sailing. [..] I started the idea of Ausome a few years ago to bridge this gap in services for those autistic people looking to experience sailing for the first time or to further their skills. [..]
The turning point in our ‘Fastnet’ campaign: Racing on the yacht Lyra of London, a Nautor’s Swan 431 based in Burnham-on-Crouch, with its owner Miles Delap proved a real turning point. […] we could fulfil my ambition of entering an all autistic crew for the challenging 608 nautical mile 2019 Rolex Fastnet Race.
Our autistic crew: [...] We are currently running a programme to select and train autistic people, both sailors and non-sailors, who will compete in the qualifying offshore races over the coming months before the final crew selection takes place for the ‘Fastnet’ itself in August.
Raising funds and the future: […] Once we have completed the ‘Fastnet’ campaign we will be working on delivering further sailing opportunities through Ausome to benefit the autistic community. We will post news from the ‘Fastnet’ campaign as it unfolds on our website www.ausome.org.uk and details of further challenges once this campaign is completed.
