On May 3^rd, in Scarlino, Italy, following the third day of racing at the Scarlino Swan One Design, Nautor’s Swan held the worldwide première for its latest launch. The eagerly-anticipated ClubSwan 36, is an innovative high-performance yacht that unites the heritage and production skills of Nautor’s Swan, the trusted organisation of ClubSwan and the design flair of Juan Kouyoumdjian.
Combining innovation and modernity and supported by eco-friendly technology from partners including BMW and Torqeedo, the ClubSwan 36 is a marriage of the finest attributes of dinghy and keelboat sailing with the thrill of foiling.
Following the unveiling, the ClubSwan 36 will undergo in-house testing and sea trials before going on the market where there is already significant interest. The target is to have five yachts in the water at the pinnacle event of the 2019 Nautor’s Swan One Design season, The Nations Trophy in Palma, Mallorca held in October.

The full carbon hull has been lifted from her mould and has moved from Nautor's facility in Kallby to the Boat Technology Center (BTC) waterfront yard; Despite hard winds and cold weather with snow, Nautor’s transport team managed it without any problem. Here’s the video.

Marevivo works for the biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, enhancement and promotion of marine protected areas; Marevivo fights against pollution and illegal fishing and promotes environmental education.

The second edition of the Monaco Swan One Design saw 14 Swan One Design yachts representing seven nations taking part. Hosted by the incomparable Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM), the opening event in The Nations Trophy Mediterranean League 2019 is the first rung on a season-long ladder that ends in October, in Mallorca, with The Nations Trophy itself. A showcase for spirited one-design competition and all that makes the Swan world so exceptional, four days filled with fiercely contested racing on the water, with national pride and individual reputation at stake, and convivial gatherings ashore.
Leonardo Ferragamo’s Italian entry, Cuordileone, won in ClubSwan 50, Luis Senis’ Spanish team on Porron IX took home the Swan 45 prize and Lorenzo Mondo’s Far Star from Italy carried top spot in ClubSwan 42. In the battle for The Nations Trophy, Cuordileone and Andrea Masi’s ClubSwan 50 Ulika combined to give victory to Italy.

The second event of The Nations Trophy Mediterranean League 2019 proved a resounding success. Nine gruelling, closely-fought, high-level races were contested by 24 yachts over four days of competition. Conditions were varied and challenging forcing crews to constantly adapt tactical approaches, to take risks, to push their resolve. Niramo (ClubSwan 50), Porron IX (Swan 45) and Fantaghiro’ (ClubSwan 42) won their respective classes following a dramatic final day of action at a memorable edition of Scarlino Swan One Design. Meanwhile, Germany topped the 12-strong Nations’ classification. The outstanding week of racing in Scarlino has raised excitement about the third round of The Nations Trophy Mediterranean League 2019 which will be held during the Rolex Giraglia in June. The event in Scarlino also heralded Nautor’s Swan’s first sustainable regatta, an initiative closely supported by Marevivo with the participation of other sustainable partners like SEASE, Banor and Ferrari Trento.

Kathleen Swalling, has shared with us her experience on board Swan 100 Rusalka: “I sail on S/Y Rusalka, Swan 100 - 203 RC. She is named after Antonín Dvořák’s opera about the water nymph who falls in love with a human prince. Being a Swan that suits her perfectly, embodying both the magical feeling that she brings to me each time I step on board with the very real feeling of performance gliding through the water as only a Swan can do.
She cruises along easily at 15kts in a 25kt breeze. I have enjoyed racing on her bow, climbing her mast, trimming her main, jib and helming her. Engine room, hydraulics, loads, trim so much to explore and learn. Everything about her fascinates me.
The salient reminder each time I step on board though is the intense joy and pleasure of sailing that each person experiences when they step on board.
She is very happy to sail deep into the fjords of the Musandam as she is in the more open waters of the Arabian or Omani gulfs.Each time we enter the fjords, her sleek lines attract the resident dolphin population as they greet us and ride the perfect bow wave.
On these trips we anchor deep in a special fjord. After a lazy afternoon swim, we enjoy a beautiful meal from her exceptionally equipped kitchen by our very international crew of friends. Then, we retire to the back deck under an immense array of stars sharing stories of our adventures on the sea. In these moments, there is no place on earth I would rather be.“
